Enjoy expansive views of the Allegheny mountains as you make your way to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, for a midday arrival at The Greenbrier. Golf today is an added bonus for those opting to arrive early. If you prefer a more leisurely trip to the resort, plan on arriving in the late afternoon to check-in and settle-in prior to our opening group reception.
1:30-2:06 PM - We have (4) consecutive tee times reserved for the group. (Greens and cart fee included in your package)
Arrive early for a round on The Greenbrier Course. Play a full 18 holes or warm-up with a quick nine. For those playing golf, you can drive directly to the golf clubhouse upon arrival at the resort. Slammin’ Sammy’s in the clubhouse is a great spot to grab a quick lunch before you tee off.
The Greenbrier is the only resort course in the world to have hosted both The Ryder Cup and The Solheim Cup. It was originally constructed in 1924 by Seth Raynor, but Jack Nicklaus led a major redesign in 1977 to prepare the course for hosting the 1979 Ryder Cup. The Solheim Cup was played on The Greenbrier in 1984. In 2016, a massive flood devastated all three of the resort’s golf courses. The Greenbrier was rebuilt as a 10-hole course, maintaining its heavily wooded fairways and demanding approach shots with forced carries into the greens. For those wishing to enjoy a full 18-hole round, you’ll play holes #1-7 and #16 and 17 as the front nine, then repeat holes #2-7, #16 and 17, and finish up on #18.
4 PM - Check-In, though rooms may be ready earlier than that tbd. If you’re arriving early for golf, call ahead to the Front Desk to see if your room might be ready in advance of our tee times?
6:45-8:45 PM - Welcome Reception on The Porch of the Greenbrier Clubhouse - Join us as we kickoff the event with cocktails and a light dinner. Mingle with your fellow event attendees and review pairings for Saturday’s round. (Included in your trip package) Dress is golf attire / resort casual. Social Distancing Note: This function space is outdoors. Seating will be 6 persons per table for this function.

The Meadows course, which began as a 9-hole course named Lakeside. Designed by Alexander H. Findlay, it opened for play in 1911. In 1923, Seth Raynor redesigned the course as an 18-hole layout while he was on the property updating Old White and building the original Greenbrier Course. After the flood of 2016, The Meadows underwent a full restoration and reopened for play during the summer of 2017. This new and exciting routing features dynamic green complexes, breathtaking mountain vistas and the resort’s signature stacked sod bunkers throughout the course.

Old White, the first 18-hole golf course at The Greenbrier, was designed by Charles Blair Macdonald and opened for play in 1914. The course was named for the well known Old White Hotel, which stood on the grounds from 1858 through 1922. Macdonald, the father of American golf course architecture, modeled several holes from some of the most famous throughout Europe. The 8th Hole was styled after the "Redan" at North Berwick, the 13th after the "Alps" at Prestwick and the 15th after the "Eden" at St. Andrews. His associate, Seth Raynor, assisted in the course construction and returned in the 1920s to oversee updates to the golf course. From 2010 through 2019, The Old White hosted The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR FedEx Cup Event. After the 2016 flood, which caused the 2016 TOUR event to be cancelled, Old White reopened a year later, fully restored to its original glory. By fully embracing the original Macdonald/Raynor elements, the course has been overwhelmingly embraced by PGA TOUR players and guests alike.
The group is on their own for lunch. Refreshments and snacks can be ordered from the on-course beverage cart or the halfway house during play.
