We’ll awake to breakfast served in the hotel and then take a short motor coach ride to Prestwick, the home of Open Championship. Originally designed by Old Tom Morris as a 12-hole course over the links, his unique design proved popular, and the club enjoyed a meteoric rise hosting the first Open Championship in 1861. The last and 24th Open Championship at Prestwick was held 65 years later in 1925.

After golf, we’ll slip into jackets and ties for a formal Scottish lunch served in the club’s legendary dining room. The same dining room where Open Champions and their contenders have enjoyed countless meals. Upon return to Turnberry, the afternoon and evening are at leisure to enjoy the resort.

Reborn in June 2016 at the hands of renowned architect, Martin Ebert, the transformation makes the Ailsa the #1 ranked golf course in the UK & Ireland. Set alongside the glorious Ayrshire coastline, with Arran and Ailsa Craig as a stunning backdrop, it is one of the finest golfing destinations in the world.

Lunch and dinner will be at leisure.

After another hearty breakfast at short motor coach transfer up the Ayrshire Coast, we’ll play the Western Gailes Golf Club today. Founded in 1897, the course has played host to the Curtis Cup, European PGA Championship, and both the Seniors and prestigious Scottish Amateur Championship. It is also one of the final qualifying courses when The Open is played at Turnberry or Royal Troon. The legendary English golfer Harry Vardon won the first professional tournament held at Western Gailes in 1903.

Following the round, the group will enjoy lunch in the clubhouse. Dinner is at leisure tonight.

After breakfast, we’ll checkout and head up the coast to play the Royal Troon Golf Club. The club proudly hosted The 145th Open Championship in 2016. It was the ninth occasion The Open had been held at Troon. Considering the Club’s humble beginning in 1878, the journey has been remarkable. Troon Golf Club was awarded Royal status in 1978 to celebrate its Centenary and has since been known as Royal Troon Golf Club.

Lunch at the club is at leisure following golf. Spend some time taking in the history of this historic Scottish golf club. We’ll then board the motor coach for the short drive back to Glasgow where we overnight before departing for return flights to the USA in the morning. Dinner is at leisure.
